Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast (trimmed of excess fat)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper (freshly cracked)
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef chuck roast against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the beef strips in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure all pieces are well-coated. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 160°F (70°C) or set your dehydrator according to manufacturer instructions.
  5. Arrange marinated meat strips in a single layer on dehydrator trays or baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  6. Dehydrate or bake for about 6-8 hours until jerky is dry yet slightly pliable.
