  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup diced fresh apples (sweet or tart)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme (or 2 tsp dried)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage (or 2 tsp dried)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by chopping the onion and garlic, and dicing the apples.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add ground chicken, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, thyme, and sage. Cook until browned and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  4. Fold in diced apples and cook for another 3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Remove from heat and cool slightly before shaping into sausage links or patties.
  6. Grill or pan-fry sausages over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
