  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for dough)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just mixed.
  6. In a small bowl, mix remaining granulated sugar with cinnamon for coating.
  7. Roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and place on prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft; cool for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
