Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F)
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add to the yeast mixture, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for about an hour until doubled.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Boil water with baking soda in a pot. Cut risen dough into small pieces and boil each for 30 seconds.
  5. Arrange boiled pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with melted butter, sprinkle coarse sea salt, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
