  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Transfer meatballs to a saucepan, add marinara sauce, and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise, fill with meatballs and sauce, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Broil subs on low for 3-5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
