  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 small Scotch bonnet pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  2. Gradually add cold water until dough forms; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Cook onions in a skillet over medium heat until translucent. Add ground beef, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, curry powder, and Scotch bonnet pepper; cook for an additional 5 minutes and let cool.
  5. Roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into circles.
  6. Place filling on each circle, fold over, and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
