  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 1 cup fresh crab meat (or imitation crab)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1/4 cup sushi vinegar
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions. Once cooked, mix in sushi vinegar while still warm.
  2. Slice avocado and cucumber into thin strips.
  3. Place a bamboo sushi mat on a flat surface and lay a sheet of nori shiny side down. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving the top edge clear.
  4. Arrange crab, avocado, and cucumber horizontally across the center of the rice-covered nori.
  5. Roll the mat away from you while tucking in the filling, applying gentle pressure to form a tight cylinder.
  6. Use a sharp knife dipped in water to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
