  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round baking pan with butter.
  2. Toss apple slices with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in brown sugar until syrupy (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Pour the caramel into the prepared pan and arrange apple slices over it.
  5. Cream softened butter and granulated sugar in a bowl. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  6. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to the batter alternately with milk until smooth.
  7. Pour batter over apples and bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and set.
  8. Let cool slightly before flipping onto a plate to reveal the apples.
