  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (7-10 minutes).
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, and paprika; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Layer half the cabbage in the baking dish, followed by half the meat mixture. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with shredded cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the cheese.
