Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse the green peppers, cut off the tops, and remove seeds.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onion in oil until translucent (3-4 minutes), then add ground meat. Cook until browned.
  3. Stir in cooked rice and tomato sauce; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fill each pepper with the mixture, packing it tight. Place upright in a baking dish.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until tender. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
